Job Title: Deputy Headteacher

Location: Beech Hall School, Beech Hall Drive, Cheshire, SK10 2EG

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: January 2027

Role Purpose

Beech Hall School is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team and help shape the future of our school. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will drive school improvement, champion excellence in teaching and learning, and ensure every student is supported to achieve their full potential.

This influential role provides strategic leadership across teaching and learning, curriculum, academic outcomes, inclusion, pastoral care and quality assurance. You will also play a key role in developing staff, building leadership capacity and fostering a positive, collaborative culture where students and staff can thrive.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deputising for the Headteacher and providing strategic leadership when required.
  • Driving high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement across the school.
  • Leading school improvement initiatives through self-evaluation, quality assurance and evidence-based practice.
  • Monitoring and developing the quality of teaching through lesson visits, learning walks, coaching and professional support.
  • Leading assessment, tracking and reporting processes to improve academic outcomes.
  • Developing and embedding an ambitious, inclusive curriculum from Reception through to Sixth Form.
  • Providing strategic oversight of behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Coaching and mentoring middle leaders to strengthen leadership across the school.
  • Supporting staff recruitment, performance management and professional development.
  • Ensuring the school maintains the highest standards of safeguarding, compliance and inspection readiness.

What You Will Bring

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has a successful track record in senior leadership required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment.
  • Has experience of driving school improvement and raising student outcomes.
  • Inspires, motivates and develops colleagues through coaching and high-quality leadership.
  • Uses data effectively to monitor performance and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Is passionate about inclusion, student wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Builds positive relationships with students, families, staff and external partners.
