🌿 Deputy Housekeeping Manager – 5-Star Luxury Hotel (Full-Time)

As Deputy Housekeeping Manager at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, you’ll help lead the team who shape the aesthetic, calm, and immaculate presentation of our luxury retreat - ensuring every space feels exceptional, serene, and beautifully cared for.

Housekeeping is truly the heart of Gilpin - the quiet heroes who ensure every room, lodge, suite, and public space looks and feels exceptional. As Deputy Housekeeping Manager, you’ll support the Housekeeping Manager in delivering 5-star standards across the estate, combining leadership with a highly practical, hands-on approach.
You’ll work alongside the team each day, maintain immaculate spaces, coordinate the rhythm of housekeeping operations, and ensure every detail reflects Gilpin’s signature calm, order, and understated luxury.

💫 Your Role as Deputy Housekeeping Manager
- Leads with calm confidence, supporting the team throughout the day and ensuring every interaction with guests and colleagues feels professional, warm, and quietly exceptional.
- Carries out room resets proactively, deep cleans, replenishes amenities, focusses on bathroom detailing, linen changes, and public-area presentation, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the team to maintain immaculate standards.
- Oversees the rhythm of the day across departures, arrivals, lodge turnovers, turndown service, deep-clean schedules, and urgent housekeeping requirements, ensuring seamless transitions and serene surroundings.
- Inspects and refines the details - linens, lighting, scent, layout, amenities, and overall feel, ensuring every space meets Gilpin’s luxury expectations.
- Works closely with Front Office, Estates, Spa, and F&B to resolve issues quickly, support guest movements, and maintain smooth operations across the estate.
- Coaches the team in cleaning techniques, product use, equipment care, and luxury finishing touches, helping build confidence, consistency, and pride.
- Supports stock control, ensures equipment is fit for purpose, reports maintenance issues promptly, and follows up to ensure swift resolution.
- Responds to guest requests with grace, handle feedback professionally, and ensure privacy, comfort, and a sense of being genuinely cared for.
- Upholds our promise of calm, order, and heartfelt care, elevating the guest experience through thoughtful touches and immaculate presentation.
Qualifications

- Strong housekeeping experience within a high-end or luxury environment.
- Impeccable attention to detail and pride in presentation.
- Confidence working both solo and within a close-knit team.
- High physical fitness and willingness to undertake daily hands-on cleaning tasks.
- Flexibility, initiative, and a calm, professional presence.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- A warm, guest-focused approach and confidence interacting with guests.
- A willingness to embrace a varied role across cleaning, leadership, guest support, and operations.

Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per year, depending on experience
Gratuities: £643 per month (average)
Hours: 45 hours per week.
