Deputy Housekeeping Manager
As Deputy Housekeeping Manager, you will support the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping department, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience across the Sanctuary. You will lead by example, providing hands-on support to the team while helping to coordinate workloads, maintain quality standards, and ensure the smooth running of housekeeping operations.
This is a varied role combining supervisory responsibilities with practical housekeeping duties across our accommodation, wellness spaces, and Estate facilities:
- Support the Housekeeping Manager in the daily running of the housekeeping department.
- Assist with supervising, motivating, and supporting the housekeeping team to maintain high standards.
- Allocate daily tasks and help coordinate workloads across the Sanctuary.
- Carry out quality checks and inspections of guest accommodation, public areas, and wellness facilities.
- Clean and prepare guest rooms, holiday cottages, and communal areas to an exceptional standard.
- Housekeeping duties within Avalon Wellbeing, including the pool suite, studio spaces, and changing facilities.
- Assist with staff training and onboarding of new team members.
- Manage stock levels and report ordering requirements for cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
- Conduct daily checks within the Hall and other hospitality venues when in use.
- Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up where required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, COSHH, and company procedures.
- Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Participate in the housekeeping rota, including weekends as required.

- Full Time: 40 hours per week
- Shifts: Across 7 days including weekends
Requirements
- Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred but not essential.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of pride in your work.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physically able to carry out cleaning duties.
- Friendly, reliable, and approachable team player.
- Essential: Flexibility to work weekends
- Essential: Driver with access to own vehicle
