About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, proactive and committed Pharmacy Technician who is eager to contribute to outstanding patient care whilst developing their leadership, operational and management skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our pharmacy team as a 12 month fixed term Deputy Lead Pharmacy Technician (Dispensary Services) to provide maternity cover. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a high quality dispensary service, ensuring the timely and efficient supply of medicines across the Trust.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Pharmacy Technician who is looking to broaden their experience in leadership, people management, service improvement and operational pharmacy services. Applications are welcomed from experienced Pharmacy Technicians who meet the essential criteria and are keen to further develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking department.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Pharmacy Technician with previous hospital pharmacy experience and a commitment to delivering high quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the co-ordination and prioritisation of dispensary workflow to achieve agreed prescription turnaround times.
- Assisting in the day-to-day management of dispensary staffing, workload allocation and skill mix.
- Deputising for the Lead Pharmacy Technician when required.
- Supporting the achievement of key performance indicators, including turnaround times, customer service standards and medicines safety measures.
- Supervising, supporting and developing Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Support Workers, apprentices and trainee staff.
- Acting as a role model, mentor and line manager for junior members of the team.
- Supporting staff engagement, training and competency assessment within the dispensary team.
- Contributing to quality improvement projects, medicines governance activities and service development initiatives.
- Supporting the review of dispensary Standard Operating Procedures and the investigation of incidents and errors.
- Participating in dispensary-based activities, including dispensing, accuracy checking and controlled drug processes.
