DEPUTY MANAGER - BRAINTREE, ESSEX

Mental health services | GBP 35,300.16 per year | 37.5 hours per week.

Lead a team. Support recovery.

A Star Care Agency is recruiting on behalf of a client for a Deputy Manager working across two mental health services in Braintree. The successful candidate will be employed directly by our client.

You will support the Service Manager with daily operations and deputise in their absence, helping adults with long-term mental health needs build independence and progress along their recovery pathway.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervising and supporting staff; helping with rotas, induction and training.
  • Person-centred support planning, risk assessments and safeguarding.
  • Working with families, commissioners and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supporting housing management, health and safety, record keeping, reporting and budget monitoring.
  • Taking part in the Essex on-call rota.

Requirements

We are looking for social care management experience, experience supporting people with mental illness and/or complex needs and substance or alcohol misuse, strong communication and administration skills, and confidence managing risk and supporting a staff team. Budget management experience is required. Service management experience and NVQ Level 3 Management or equivalent are desirable.

Hours: normally Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. This role also requires on-call cover, including evenings/weekends, and flexibility to work different shifts or weekends to meet service needs.
