Role Description
The Deputy Manager role at Springfield Care Home is a full-time, on-site position based in Coppull. The Deputy Manager supports the Home Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of person-centred care, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Supervising and mentoring care staff
- Coordinating resident care plans
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Liaising with residents, families, and external professionals
- Contributing to staff scheduling
- Assisting with training and performance management
- Helping drive quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting a positive team culture
- Promoting the home’s values of dignity, respect, and holistic well-being
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in elderly care or residential care settings, with strong knowledge of person-centred and holistic care practices.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, including staff supervision, mentoring, and team coordination.
- Sound understanding of care home regulations, safeguarding procedures, health and safety standards, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving skills, including experience with care planning, documentation, and rota management.
- Relevant health or social care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent); higher-level qualification is an advantage.
- Competence in using care management systems and basic IT tools for record-keeping and reporting.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work shifts as required, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
