Overview

We are looking for an experienced and caring Deputy Manager for our Frenchay House location, a beautiful care home in a listed building overlooking the picturesque Frenchay Common on Beckspool Road.

What A 'Deputy Manager' Means To Us

The Deputy Manager is a member of the care team appointed to support the Manager in delivering care and assisting the residents meet their daily needs. The Deputy Manager will also deputise to cover the duties of the Manager when necessary.

The post holder will undertake a range of activities including managerial tasks under the supervision of the Manager and undertake training in the agreed competencies.

Responsibilities Of The Post

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide care in accordance with the instructions and training given.
  • Help to promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of residents, their relatives and friends.
  • Contribute to a team approach to resident care in conjunction with colleagues.
  • Contribute to the legibility and accuracy of the residents care plans and other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication/reporting system.
  • Participate in regular home meetings.
  • Observe the code of confidentiality.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are met. Report and record all accidents and incidents according to home policy, taking action as necessary always informing the senior member of staff on duty.
  • Promptly report any complaints made.
  • Take responsibility for residents' property and valuables according to home policy.
  • Maintain knowledge of current procedures to be followed in the event of serious incidents.

Education and Training

  • Participate in initial induction training programme.
  • Attend nominated courses in First Aid and Manual Handling.
  • Complete Food Hygiene training where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the learning environment of all new staff.

Health and Safety

Under the provisions contained in the health and safety at work act 1974, it is the duty of every employee to:

  • Take reasonable care of themselves and others at work.
  • Co-operate with the home as far as is necessary to enable legal duties to be carried out.
  • Not to intentionally or recklessly interfere with anything provided, including personal protective equipment for health and safety or welfare at work.
