Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager
An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager to join a specialist children's residential care provider supporting young people with SEMH needs through a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment.
As a Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of the home, leading the team and progressing towards a Registered Manager position.
This full-time role offers a salary range of GBP 18 - GBP 21 per hour plus GBP 60 per sleep-in and benefits. They will consider candidates on a Permanent, Temp-to-Perm, or Temporary basis.
You will also have the opportunity to progress towards becoming a Registered Manager.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the effective running of the residential home.
- Leading and supporting the care team during shifts, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.
- Promoting safeguarding, managing complex behaviours and supporting positive outcomes for young people.
- Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, records and required documentation.
- Supporting staff development through guidance, supervision and coaching.
- Working collaboratively with professionals including social workers, education providers, families and clinical teams.
- Maintaining a therapeutic and supportive environment for young people.

What We Are Looking For
- Previously worked as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Childcare Manager, Assistant Home Manager, Senior Residential Support Worker, Home Manager or in a similar role.
- At least 3 years of experience in children's residential care.
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (NVQ/QCF or equivalent).
- Ideally working towards or holding a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
Shift
- 2 days on / 4 days off rota
- Includes 2 sleep-ins per working cycle
- Weekend and bank holiday availability required
