Heart & Home Living

Heart & Home Living provides specialist residential care for children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Our trauma-informed, child-centred approach ensures every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow.

We focus on delivering high-quality care, personalised education, and life skills development tailored to each young person’s individual needs, helping them build a brighter future.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care and full compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

You’ll lead by example, creating a positive stable environment for both young people and staff. You’ll support and develop the team, promote a culture of reflection and learning, and ensure the home remains a safe, supportive, and empowering place for children to thrive.

This is a rewarding leadership role where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, nurturing care in line with organisational values and regulatory standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise staff, including performance management, appraisals, and training.
  • Promote a positive team culture that prioritises the wellbeing and development of both staff and young people.
  • Respond flexibly to the needs of the home, including working varied shifts and occasional sleep-ins.
  • Build strong relationships with young people, offering consistent emotional and practical support.
  • Liaise effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies, including attending and chairing meetings.
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
