Deputy Manager – Children's Home, Leatherhead (Permanent)
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Salary: £38,840 – £42,500 (dependent on experience)
£60 per sleep-in
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with North Star Children's Homes to recruit a Deputy Manager for their residential children's home in the Leatherhead area of Surrey.
North Star is a growing residential childcare provider supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and this is a hands-on leadership role in an established home, splitting the week roughly half and half between shift and office.

The Role
As Deputy Manager, You Will
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, deputising fully in their absence.
- Lead shifts, supervise and develop support workers, and model excellent childcare practice.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding on a day-to-day basis.
- Work a blend of two long days on shift and two office days each week, flexing to full office hours when the manager is away.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, placing authorities, and partner professionals.
About You
You will be an experienced residential childcare practitioner with:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or above (essential).
- At least three years' experience as a Deputy Manager in a children's home.
- Sound knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding practice.
- The warmth and resilience to lead a team supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
