Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home (Assessment Centre)

Lutterworth, Leicestershire
£34,000 – £39,000 per annum
Monday to Friday | 9am – 5pm
Full-Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker ready for your next step within children’s residential care? We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a specialist residential assessment service supporting children and young people aged 7–18 years. The service provides short-term placements focused on assessment, therapeutic intervention, trauma support and stabilisation, creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people can receive the support they need while their longer-term needs are assessed.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the home, supporting and developing the staff team while ensuring consistently high standards of care. You will:

  • Support the effective day-to-day running of the home
  • Lead, supervise and motivate residential care staff
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
  • Support care planning, assessments and risk management
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding practice
  • Support young people using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers and other professionals
  • Ensure practice remains compliant with Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Quality Standards
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager when required

What We’re Looking For

You will need:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential home within the last 5 years
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience supervising or managing staff within a care setting
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
  • Confident leadership and communication skills
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK
