  • Danygraig, Bridgend Road, Porthcawl, CF36 5SR
  • £14.50 per hour | Permanent | Full-Time
  • Monday–Friday | 8:30am - 17:00 pm

Know great care when you see it and know how to bring out the best in a team?

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Care Home Manager to join our team at Danygraig.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who knows residential care, understands dementia and enjoys being right at the heart of a service supporting the Home Manager, developing the team and making sure the people who live with us receive the very best care and support.

You might already be a Deputy Manager or perhaps you're an experienced Team Leader or Care Coordinator who's ready for that next step.

Either way, we're looking for someone who knows their stuff, isn't afraid to get stuck in and, most importantly, genuinely cares about getting things right for residents.

A Little About Danygraig

Danygraig is a beautiful Grade II listed home set within 2.5 acres of landscaped gardens, with lovely views across the Bristol Channel and surrounding parkland.

The home has 48 bedrooms across four units and provides residential and respite care for people living with mental health conditions, including dementia.

Our approach is centred around the individual supporting each person to achieve their personal outcomes, make their own choices and live with dignity, respect and as much independence as possible.

What Will You Be Doing?

Working closely with the Home Manager, you'll play a key role in the day to day running of Danygraig and help ensure consistently high standards of care across the home.

You'll be:

  • Supporting the Home Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the service
  • Providing visible, approachable leadership to the care team
  • Supporting, guiding and motivating colleagues to deliver excellent person-centred care
  • Helping ensure residents' individual needs, choices and outcomes remain at the heart of the service
  • Supporting care planning, reviews and risk assessments
  • Monitoring the quality and accuracy of care records and documentation
  • Supporting safe medication practices and appropriate record keeping
  • Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in residents' needs
  • Supporting staff development, supervision and good practice
  • Helping maintain high standards around safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and quality
  • Communicating confidently with residents, relatives, colleagues and other professionals
  • Supporting the service to maintain high standards and continually improve
  • Stepping up and providing leadership when the Home Manager isn't available

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
