About the Role

Help Change What Happens Next

Sometimes all it takes is the right support at the right time. A conversation before someone reaches crisis. A mentor who believes in someone's potential. A community activity that helps someone feel connected again. Practical support that builds confidence and helps people take the next step forward.

At Doncaster Mind, our Early Support & Community Wellbeing Pathway exists to provide support early, helping people access help before challenges become overwhelming.

As Deputy Manager, you'll help lead services that strengthen wellbeing, reduce isolation, build resilience and create opportunities for people to thrive within their communities.

Prevention Starts With People

Many of the people who access our services are facing challenges that could impact their mental health and wellbeing if left unaddressed. They may be experiencing loneliness, low confidence, workplace pressures, family difficulties, life transitions or emerging mental health concerns.

Our role is to offer support early, helping people access information, guidance, mentoring, community opportunities and wellbeing support that can make a positive difference before difficulties escalate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

As Deputy Manager, you'll help ensure people can access timely, person-centred support that builds on strengths, increases confidence and helps them stay connected to their communities.

Lead Through Communities, Partnerships & People

This isn't a traditional service management role. You'll support and develop a team of practitioners, facilitators and volunteers who are passionate about helping people improve their wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes.

You'll also work closely with partners across health, education, community, voluntary and public sector organisations to strengthen pathways into support and ensure local people can access the right help at the right time.

Together, you'll help create services that are accessible, responsive and rooted in the needs of Doncaster communities.

Help Shape the Future of Early Support

This is an opportunity to influence how prevention and early intervention services develop across Doncaster.

You'll contribute to service improvement, identify emerging needs, strengthen partnerships and help shape innovative approaches that improve wellbeing and reduce the need for more intensive support later on.
