Deputy Manager
At Cynd residential homes, we are seeking a dedicated and energetic Deputy Manager to lead and support the care team within an EBD (Emotionally and Behaviourally Difficult) / LD (Learning Difficulties) children’s home (02 bed).
This vital role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of care, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children with learning difficulties.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, extensive experience in care settings, and a passion for making a positive difference in young lives. Join us to be part of a dynamic team committed to providing exceptional care and support to vulnerable children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Registered Manager in the overall management and smooth running of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and policies.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centered care tailored to each child's individual needs.
- Oversee the development and implementation of personalised care plans, including assessments related to emotional wellbeing, behavioral management, and educational support.
- Support staff in managing complex behaviors associated with EBD/LD, including de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
- Ensure medication administration is carried out accurately and safely in accordance with prescribed protocols.
- Promote a positive environment that encourages children’s development, independence, and emotional resilience through engaging activities and consistent routines.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, care plans, and progress reports while ensuring confidentiality and data protection standards are upheld.

Requirements:
- Proven experience working within residential children’s home care, particularly with children or young people with learning difficulties or emotional challenges.
- Demonstrated management skills with supervising experience in a care home or similar setting; ability to lead teams effectively.
- Knowledge of care planning processes, medication administration protocols, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent leadership qualities combined with compassionate communication skills to support both staff development and child wellbeing.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly while maintaining professional standards at all times.

- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care or equivalent are preferred, additional training in behavioral management.
- Must hold a driving licence.
