Role Description
The Deputy Manager role at Mon Ami is a full-time, on-site position based in Leyland, responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in the daily running of a residential children’s home. The role includes:

- Leading and supervising the care team
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centered support for children
- Promoting a safe, nurturing environment
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation
- Supporting compliance with Ofsted standards and safeguarding requirements

Day-to-day tasks involve:
- Coordinating staff schedules
- Mentoring team members
- Participating in multi-agency meetings
- Maintaining effective communication with local authorities, families, and external professionals
The role also contributes to continuous improvement, incident reviews, and creating a home culture where children feel valued and empowered.
Qualifications
- Experience in residential childcare or social care settings, with a strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Ofsted).
- Leadership and team management skills, including staff supervision, coaching, performance oversight, and the ability to support a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, including clear written and verbal communication, report writing, and effective collaboration with children, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills, such as managing competing priorities, handling emergencies, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to service development.
- Relevant qualifications, such as Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with willingness to undertake further training and professional development.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as required, and a commitment to child-centered practice and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within children’s services and a valid driver’s license are advantageous.
