Bloomcare is recruiting a Deputy Manager to join Laburnum House, our Good-rated CQC residential care home in Oldham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional with a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting colleagues to provide outstanding outcomes for residents.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day running of the home, support regulatory compliance, develop your team and maintain the highest standards of care. Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of a residential care home.
- Lead, motivate and develop care colleagues.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times.
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
- Review care plans, risk assessments and medication processes.
- Carry out quality audits and implement continuous improvements.
- Support recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development.
- Manage staffing levels and rotas to ensure safe, effective care.
- Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
- Support the General Manager in achieving excellent inspection outcomes and operational performance.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Care professional within a residential or nursing care setting.
- At least 3 years' supervisory or management experience.
- NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Health & Social Care.
- A good understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding and person-centred care.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A positive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for supporting older people.
- An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
