Company: Benedon Healthcare Limited

Location: Birmingham, Tyseley

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full-time

Contract: Permanent

Start date: As soon as possible, subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks

About Benedon Health Care:

Benedon Health Care is a growing, CQC-registered care provider delivering person-centred care and support to adults in their own homes and in supported living settings across Birmingham. We support people with a range of needs, including dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical and sensory impairments, and more, always with a focus on dignity, independence and choice.

We are now looking for a confident, organised and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our management team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely hands-on leadership role, working directly alongside the Registered Manager at an important stage in our growth.

The Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to make sure our services are safe, effective and person-centred, while supporting our care team to deliver a consistently high standard of care. You will help oversee the day-to-day running of the service and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the service
  • Assist with staff recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development.
  • Carry out staff supervisions and contribute to performance management.
  • Manage and control staff rotas through Birdie, our online care management system, ensuring safe and appropriate staffing levels at all times.
  • Prepare and process invoices and support accurate billing and record-keeping for the service.
  • Support the preparation and review of care plans and risk assessments.
  • Support the completion and review of Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs), PEEPs and other individualised care and risk-management documentation.
  • Support initial and ongoing assessments of service users so that care continues to reflect individual needs, preferences and identified risks.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of care delivered, and the accuracy of care documentation and records.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and incidents, and ensure agreed actions are implemented.
  • Support compliance with CQC regulations, policies and procedures, including audits, quality monitoring and service improvement.
  • Support medication governance, including reviewing medication records and escalating concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential care and staff records.
  • Work with service users, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies, and take part in service user reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Help manage complaints, concerns and compliments professionally.
  • Support staff meetings and team briefings, communicating changes in care needs, procedures or service requirements.
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
