Role Description
The Deputy MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) is a part-time, remote role responsible for supporting the oversight and continuous improvement of Cosmonyx’s anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) framework. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with transaction monitoring, reviewing alerts, conducting investigations, and preparing internal reports and documentation for regulatory purposes. The role involves supporting the MLRO in managing suspicious activity reports (SARs), maintaining AML policies and procedures, and coordinating with internal stakeholders on compliance-related matters. The Deputy MLRO will help assess customer and counterpart risk, contribute to periodic risk assessments, and support training initiatives to promote a strong compliance culture across the organization. The position requires proactive collaboration with operations, product, and technology teams to ensure that new offerings, including digital asset and cross-border payment solutions, align with regulatory expectations and internal standards.

- Experience in AML/CTF compliance, including transaction monitoring, investigations, and SAR reporting in financial services or fintech.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU/UK AML regulations, FATF recommendations, and virtual asset guidance) and risk-based approaches.
- Skills in analyzing complex financial data, identifying unusual patterns, and documenting clear, evidence-based conclusions.
- Ability to draft and maintain policies, procedures, and internal guidance related to AML, sanctions, and customer due diligence.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across legal, operations, product, and engineering teams.
- Familiarity with digital assets, stablecoins, payment rails, and cross-border treasury operations is highly beneficial.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS or equivalent) and prior experience in a regulated institution or fintech environment are a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively in a part-time capacity, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
