The Role
We're looking for an organised, proactive and highly capable Deputy Manager to join our Office for Teaching & Learning (OTL). This is a varied and influential role supporting key student success initiatives, including the Centre for Academic Writing (CAW) and SIGMA (our Maths Support Centre), which help students achieve their full potential.
Reporting into senior leadership, you'll play a central role in ensuring the smooth operation of the department through effective administration, coordination and resource management.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing resources, budgets and financial administration.
- Coordinating operational processes and resource allocation.
- Providing administrative support across OTL, CAW and SIGMA, including arranging student appointments.
- Liaising with Registry on student enrolments and academic matters.
- Managing Aula administration and supporting student learning engagement.
- Supporting teaching teams on CMI and CRB modules, working closely with People teams and key stakeholders.

Our Successful Candidate
You will be an experienced and highly organised professional with a track record of providing high-level administrative support within complex and fast-paced environments. Educated to degree level, or with equivalent professional experience, you will be confident managing competing priorities, supporting senior leaders and delivering excellent service to a wide range of stakeholders.
You will possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret and present both qualitative and quantitative information to support decision-making. Experience of budget management and financial monitoring is essential, alongside advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. You will be an excellent communicator, able to build positive working relationships and engage professionally with colleagues, students, senior leaders and external partners.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, resourceful and solutions-focused, with the confidence to use their initiative, exercise sound judgement and adapt quickly to changing priorities. You will also have the ability to motivate and support others, contributing positively to a collaborative team environment while maintaining a strong focus on achieving outcomes and enhancing the student experience
