At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts work in partnership following the formation of the Pathology Network North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMCPS).
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, highly motivated, and confident individuals to join our Phlebotomy team as a Deputy Phlebotomy Manager.
About the Role
The successful applicant would be expected to support the Phlebotomy Manager in the delivery of the Phlebotomy service at County Hospital.
The successful applicant will also be expected to provide cover and support across NMCPS sites when required to do so.
The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations.
Based at County Hospital, the successful applicant will be expected to provide day-to-day management of the phlebotomy team. You will also be expected to deputise for the Phlebotomy Manager and support the phlebotomy supervisor(s).

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day management of a team of phlebotomists to ensure standardized best practices are delivered at all locations.
- Enjoy taking a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience in all phlebotomy techniques is essential. Previous supervisory experience would be considered an advantage.
Requirements
- Enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.
- Attention to detail is important along with basic keyboard skills.
- Strong IT skills are essential, along with experience of data entry and use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Use your own vehicle to travel to the various community locations for which traveling expenses will be reimbursed.
Position Details
- Part-time, 27.5 hours per week.
