Deputy QA Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy QA Manager on a fixed term contract until December 2027.

Working Hours

The working hours are Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.00

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the quality and process auditing service to the factories to ensure the objectives and procedures detailed in the quality manual are achieved and to ensure the safety, legality, and quality of the products are achieved and maintained.

An overview of the responsibilities:

  • To complete the daily tasks of the Day QA in their absence
  • Managing the Quality Auditors
  • Management of Yearly Site Quality Schedule
  • Management of Pest Control via contractor
  • Products Traceability & monthly raw material mass balance - Presentation to auditors in audits
  • Liaise with factory operations to resolve factory issues
  • Taking decision on the approval of site concession requests
  • Ensure all CCP and food safety training is up to date and captured in the QA Skills Matrix
  • Attend the daily morning meeting and report on QA responsibilities
  • Manage held-stock report (liaising with the relevant teams)
  • Complete weekly/monthly reports including (Director Board Report and customers Scorecard/reports)
  • Ordering and repair of equipment such as Scales, Probes, pH meters, any consumable for the department
  • Site Quality Budget management
  • Oversee Foreign body action plans and Quality Action plans and assist with Customer Complaint Investigations response
  • Organising lab schedule testing and liaising with external laboratory
  • Action any out of specification results including finished product, air plates, hand swabs, food contact packaging & water sampling
  • Complete out of spec micro/nutritional customer reports
  • To assist in the Listeria Action plan and overall Hygiene meeting actions
  • Day-to-day assisting of the Site Quality Manager
  • Assist in BRC/Customers audits
  • Risk assess and investigate site issues/stock on hold and bring all the issues arising to the attention of the Site QA Manager or Technical & QA Controller

Candidates should have experience within a food manufacturing/production environment. Quality Auditing experience is required along with HACCP & Food Safety level 3.
