The Role
This role is responsible for managing and developing a Commercial Banking team while overseeing credit and operational risk across the business. You’ll support the formulation and implementation of strategy across new client acquisition, portfolio management, Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) and returns. With full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility as a business head you’ll translate plans into measurable outcomes through disciplined execution and sustainable growth. The role may include client-facing and/or portfolio responsibilities depending on the business need. Success means delivering against operating plan targets while ensuring fair outcomes for customers and a robust end-to-end client experience. You’ll coordinate closely with product partners and international colleagues to deepen relationships and meet evolving customer needs.
What you'll be doing
- Execute business objectives to deliver revenue growth and meet Annual Operating Plan targets and key performance indicators
- Direct resources to achieve Rolling Operating Plan targets and long-term growth aligned to strategic plans
- Identify sales opportunities that address specific client needs and manage them from initial identification through to point of sale
- Manage sales activity and key metrics to sustain strong employee productivity against market norms
- Provide business Management Information (MI) that supports front line performance and decision-making
- Deliver direct support to Relationship Managers and ensure high quality service across the customer base where required
- Align teams around clients to deliver a high quality and robust service model across the business
- Manage financial crime risk across the client lifecycle through identification, assessment, monitoring, escalation and mitigation

What we're looking for
- Bring substantial experience managing and developing teams in a Commercial Banking environment
- Demonstrate accountability for Profit & Loss (P&L) performance and business outcomes as a business head or equivalent scope
- Apply proven capability in new client acquisition, pipeline management and relationship building across new and existing customers
- Show strong experience in portfolio management including Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) management and returns discipline
- Demonstrate the ability to identify client needs and translate them into effective sales opportunities through to completion
- Use Management Information (MI) effectively to support performance management and operational decision-making
- Partner effectively with product teams, international colleagues and other Global Businesses to maximise client value
- Manage financial crime risk across the client lifecycle including assessment, monitoring, escalation and mitigation
