Salary: £23,500 - £25,000 dependent on experience
Contract: Full Time, Permanent, term-time only
Location: Elmtree Learning Partnership Weston-super-Mare

Elmtree Learning Partnership is seeking an exceptional and dedicated Deputy Site Lead to join our growing Alternative Provision for secondary-aged learners. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
Working closely with the Site Lead, you will play a key role in the strategic and operational leadership of the provision, ensuring students receive high-quality educational and pastoral support in a safe, nurturing, and aspirational environment.
About The Role
The Deputy Site Lead will support the effective day-to-day running of the provision and contribute to the development of high-quality educational experiences for all learners. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the referral and induction process for new students.
- Coordinating and contributing to Annual Reviews and ongoing reviews of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of individual learning plans and personalised targets.
- Acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and supporting all safeguarding and child protection processes.
- Monitoring and maintaining site compliance, health and safety requirements, and statutory responsibilities.
- Leading and supporting the completion and review of student and site risk assessments.
- Supporting curriculum development to ensure provision meets the diverse needs of learners.
- Providing guidance, coaching and day-to-day support to staff.
- Monitoring student progress, attendance, behaviour and engagement, ensuring effective interventions are implemented.
- Building positive relationships with families, schools, local authorities and external agencies.
- Deputising for the Site Lead when required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience in a higher-level education support role, pastoral leadership role, or similar leadership position within education.
- Experience as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) or a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a willingness to undertake further training.
- Experience of working with secondary-aged young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH needs, or those educated within alternative provision.
- Knowledge and experience of EHCP processes, Annual Reviews, and multi-agency working.
- A strong understanding of behaviour support, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience of supporting curriculum delivery and educational planning.
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm, resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations.
- A commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for vulnerable learners.
