Deputy Team Leader - Trauma Theatre at UHL

Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We are looking for a new Deputy Team Leader to join our busy and dynamic Trauma Theatre at UHL.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role, working closely with the Band 7 to support the safe and effective running of our service. In this fast-paced environment, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for individuals who can lead by example, role model high standards of practice, and inspire confidence within the team.

Theatre experience is essential, as you will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day theatre activity, supporting colleagues, and maintaining the high standards expected across the Trust, while also working clinically alongside the Trauma team.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting the Band 7 with the operational management of the theatre
  • Promoting a strong safety culture
  • Ensuring compliance with Trust and national standards
  • Mentoring and supporting staff
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment

  • Visible clinical expertise, leading multi-disciplinary teams daily to provide direction, effective and inspirational leadership within the area of responsibility.
  • Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based care to patients.
  • Coordination and supervision of staff involved in all aspects of clinical duties
  • Deputise and manage the clinical area in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader
  • Participate in the effective clinical leadership and management of the team.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of services and quality of care provision to meet the needs of patients, service users, and their families.
  • Act as a role model; mentoring, teaching, assessing, and supporting students/learners on placement and participate in the education, development, and mentorship of other staff.
