Job Opportunity: Deputy Ward Manager in CAMHS Inpatient Services
Phoenix Ward is seeking Deputy Ward Managers who are committed to advancing their careers and specializing within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) inpatient services within our General Adolescent Inpatient Unit.
About the Role
You should be a committed and competent Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) seeking a new challenge and development opportunities. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure on a busy, inpatient ward.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of the shifts on a rotational basis.
- Act as a primary nurse to service users and their carers.
- Be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective communication with all relevant personnel who contribute to the care of the service user both internal and external to the Trust.
- Collaborate with the ward manager and clinical leads to ensure continuous clinical and professional development for ward staff through on-the-job coaching, mentoring, audit, regular supervision, and ward-based training of less experienced staff.
- Deputise for the ward manager as required and promote multi-disciplinary team working while leading predominantly on nursing issues and leadership.
- Act into the duty manager role occasionally in a supporting role to staff across Prestwich site.

Requirements
- Completed Band 5 nursing preceptorship and signed off on this.
- Be a quality inspector, and report everything, especially where you need help to put it right.
- Take a proactive role in identifying risks and acting on the results to resolve problems at source.
- Take part in risk management practices, both clinical and non-clinical in line with the Trust Risk Management Strategy to help reduce risks to the safety of patients.
