About the Role
The Discharge Unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager with a strong commitment to delivering high quality, patient centred care within a dynamic, fast paced discharge environment.

Main Duties of the Job
The Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager is responsible for supporting the Ward Manager in providing effective clinical and operational leadership within the Discharge Unit. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient centred care while facilitating timely, coordinated and effective patient discharged.

- The post holder will lead the nursing team on a day to day basis, acting as the nurse in charge when required, and will promote a positive culture of teamwork, continuous improvement and compassionate care.
- They will work collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team to ensure efficient patient flow, reduce delays in discharge and maintain high standards of clinical practice, patient safety and Governance.
- The Deputy Ward Manager will also support staff with development through supervision, mentorship and performance management, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- They will contribute to service improvement initiatives, effective resource management and the achievement of key performance indicators for enhanced patient outcomes and the overall patient experience.
