Deputy Unit Manager - Endoscopy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Deputy Unit Manager, with Endoscopy experience to join the Northumbria Endoscopy Service. The post holders will be required to work Trust wide, working flexibly over weekends and on-call is a requirement of the service. Based at Hexham General Hospital.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Endoscopy Unit Managers, the individual will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day supervision of the Endoscopy Units
  • Support to the Unit Managers
  • Support the training for the Endoscopy team
  • Provide Senior Nurse Site cover
  • Provide advanced pre-assessment
  • Provide and plan nursing care
  • Provide effective communication across the multi-disciplinary team

In addition, a contribution to the attainment of JAG Accreditation and operational delivery of the key performance indicators within the Endoscopy Unit will be expected. The individual will be expected to undertake, in the absence of the Unit Manager, key operational management duties such as HR and day-to-day unit supervision.

The Endoscopy Deputy Manager will be expected to attend a number of key meetings, such as the:

  • Endoscopy User Group
  • Endoscopy Governance Group
  • Senior Nurse Group
