Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager Post on Mulberry 1
Mulberry 1 is a 14-bedded acute assessment and treatment mental health ward for adults aged 18-65 years old.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support, and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Lead on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care on night shifts.
- Have a good level of knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.
- Identify and contribute to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff.
- Ensure that issues of equality, diversity, and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation.
- Ensure effective communication pathways exist, and act within your sphere of responsibility, leading the shift in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Ward Manager, or the designated deputy.
- Assist the Ward Manager in the provision of clinical leadership and to be a clinical role model to the 24-hour inpatient team.
- Act on behalf of and to deputise, as directed by the Ward Manager in their absence.
- Work in conjunction with the Matron to set, maintain, and audit clinical standards in adherence to local and national priorities.
