Job Scope

The role is responsible for taking customer design instructions and coordinating them to the project workflow manager.

Reviewing the customer requirements and based on the technical specifications producing a design instruction, the Design Authority is to review the designs to ensure compliance to customer specifications and requirements and submit/upload them to customer systems for customer approval.

Needs to Have

  • Good Technical understanding of Telecommunications Industry design standards essential
  • Experience in a Technical Design role is essential
  • Knowledge of current UK H&S regulations and design standards
  • Excellent Commercial aptitude
  • Strong understanding of project methodology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Strong organizational ability with experience in MS Project or similar project tools
  • Proven skills in delivery of project KPI’s and experience in customer facing role

Needs to Do

  • Produce Design instructions to KTL partners and support customer dependencies
  • Review Designs from KTL partners and confirm design and compliant with client standards
  • Highlight and escalate major design variance through the project team
  • Review and confirm site can be built in accordance with design.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the customer and the project team
  • Implementation and maintenance of relevant approved processes, procedures, health and safety and technical standards and ensure their consistency with requirements of other departments
  • Management of the relevant sub-contractors, monitor performance in terms of time, cost, quality and health & safety
  • Oversee drawing revision process manage all corrective actions prior to client handover
  • Responsible for ensuring all handover documentation is completed and submitted Right First Time
