The Opportunity
You will play a key role in shaping and improving engineering governance, policies and standards within a complex, highly regulated engineering environment.
- Working closely with engineering leaders, technical authorities and programme teams, you will help develop and maintain the organisational arrangements, governance frameworks and assurance processes that support both ongoing operations and future infrastructure programmes.
- This is an excellent opportunity to influence engineering strategy, improve organisational effectiveness and support major programme delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
You will:
- Develop engineering organisation strategies, ensuring roles, responsibilities, governance arrangements and delegated authorities are clearly defined.
- Produce and maintain engineering management arrangements, policies, standards and supporting guidance.
- Support technical assurance, engineering substantiation, design acceptance, configuration management and change control processes.
- Work closely with stakeholders and technical authorities to establish effective governance and assurance arrangements.
- Define and maintain engineering interfaces, escalation routes and decision-making frameworks.
- Support the development and implementation of Technical Authority arrangements and assurance responsibilities.
- Establish clear accountability models for engineering decision-making and technical governance.
- Provide engineering management advice to programme and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare strategy papers, governance documents, implementation plans, briefing notes and decision papers for senior stakeholders.

Experience Required
You will have experience working within a regulated engineering environment and be comfortable developing governance arrangements, engineering policies and technical assurance frameworks. You will understand how engineering organisations operate and be able to define responsibilities, authorities and assurance requirements that support safe and effective delivery.
You will be confident engaging with senior stakeholders, technical authorities and multidisciplinary teams, producing high-quality documentation and driving improvements in engineering governance and organisational effectiveness
You will have:
- Experience in engineering management, technical assurance or governance.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, authorisation requirements and safety management systems.
- Experience developing engineering arrangements, governance frameworks and accountability structures.
- Experience working with Design Authority, Technical Authority or Intelligent Customer arrangements.
- Understanding of delegated authority models, organisational governance and assurance frameworks.

Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Working pattern: Hybrid working, with approximately three days per week split between sites.
Hours: 40 hours per week.
