Design Consultant

CornerStone is a leading independent Security Risk Consultancy, and we are now looking for a Design Consultant to join our award-winning team in a UK-wide capacity. About the Role

The primary tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Be the owner of or support the delivery of security consultancy services in line with client requirements, regulations, standards, etc. through the delivery of a varied range of projects and/or work packages
  • Delivery of concept designs and on-going development through to production of detailed technical design packs in line with client requirements, including managing of change either generated by client or internal design process
  • Producing detailed design schedules, document registers, designer risk assessments, technical drawings, schematics, technical or performance-based specifications
  • Understand, communicate, and design security systems deployments in relation to the necessary data and network architecture required for IP Security systems and integrations
  • Prepare and deliver high quality reports across a range of security areas including project budgets, technology studies and analysis of costs and tender information to aid the procurement
  • Liaison with IT and client specialist teams on the security projects coordination and deployment, providing support and requirement for 3rd party dependencies, such as containment, small power, network, cabling ICT and cyber protection
  • Direct and chair client-facing meetings and workshops focused on the delivery of a range of services ensuring accurate meeting notes and actions are produced
  • Understand security risk management methodologies and be able to recommend mitigation measures based on a risk assessment process
  • Presenting, demonstrating, and communicating technical, strategic and design information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clearly documented reports, submissions, or formal presentations
  • Understanding and managing client expectations and requirements across a broad technical security environment and providing reports and regular updates to project owners or senior consultants
  • Support and represent the business in its internal and external efforts and overall mission to lead from the front and increase the quality and standards in the security industry

The consultant shall also be capable of:

  • Delivering to a range of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to maintain high quality outputs across a range of areas including resource management, delivery, financial, and other requirements
  • Working closely with all internal teams focusing on efficient project delivery and ensuring effective communication is maintained during the delivery projects
  • Working under pressure and multi-tasking to achieve project and client timelines, satisfying client expectations and have good time and workload management skills
  • Maintaining a very high level of technical understanding of electronic security systems, physical security measures, ICT, IoT and cyber technologies
  • Monitoring and developing technical security experience in products, systems, and standards
  • Global travel as required and appropriate
