Design Coordinator
Location: Acton, West London
Sector: Main Contracting – Data Centres
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + package
The Opportunity
Walker & Sloan is recruiting a Design Coordinator to join a specialist main contractor delivering a data centre project in Acton.
If you have a grounding in construction design coordination and want to develop your experience on a technically demanding project, this is an opportunity to work closely with design consultants, specialist subcontractors and the site delivery team.
Role Overview
You’ll support the coordination of design information, helping ensure drawings and technical submissions are reviewed, issued and available to support the construction programme.
Working alongside the design and project teams, you’ll help identify gaps between disciplines, track outstanding information and follow up on design queries. You’ll take part in design meetings, maintain action trackers and support the review of subcontractor design submissions.

The role will involve coordinating architectural, structural and building services information, with attention to buildability and the interfaces between packages. You’ll also help communicate design changes so the site team has clear, up-to-date information.
About You
You may already be working as a Design Coordinator, Technical Coordinator or Assistant Design Manager, or be ready to move into a coordination role from a relevant construction design background.
You’ll understand how design information supports construction delivery and be comfortable reading technical drawings, raising queries and working with different project stakeholders. You’ll need an organised approach, attention to detail and the confidence to follow up on outstanding actions. Previous main contractor experience would be valuable. Data centre experience would be an advantage, although relevant experience from other construction sectors will also be considered.
