Freelance Design Coordinator (Full Time or Part Time)
Bradford | Hybrid Working | Outside IR35 | 2 months with potential of extension
About the Company
Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK. They are involved in the planning, coordination and delivery of complex civil engineering works, working closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Design Coordinator to support the first stage of design coordination activities for one of their projects. This role is predominantly focused on project coordination and will involve working with multiple stakeholders to develop risk and value engineering registers, construction methodologies, traffic management solutions, lift planning strategies and utility coordination activities. The successful candidate will also support the development of the construction programme for the second phase of the works.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the first stage of design activities for the project.
- Develop and maintain Risk Registers and Value Engineering Registers.
- Support the development of construction methodologies.
- Assist in planning traffic management phasing around construction works.
- Coordinate lift planning requirements.
- Facilitate utility coordination activities.
- Work with project teams to support the development of the construction programme.
- Coordinate teams from different organisations to achieve project objectives.

Experience Required
- Proven experience in design coordination within civil engineering projects.
- Experience developing Risk Registers and Value Engineering Registers.
- Strong project coordination experience.
- Ability to coordinate and manage input from multiple stakeholders and organisations.
Technical Skills
- Experience in bridge construction.
- Experience planning traffic management phasing around construction activities.
- Knowledge of piling installation.
- Knowledge of concrete pipe construction.
Desirable Experience
- Utility coordination experience.
