Design Coordinator – Facades & Drylining

Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Industry: Construction / Facades / Drylining

Our client is a successful and growing facades and drylining contractor based in Basildon, Essex. Due to continued growth and an increasing pipeline of projects, they are looking to recruit an experienced Design Coordinator to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Coordinator with a background in facades, drylining, cladding or general construction to join an established specialist contractor and play a key role in the successful delivery of their projects.

As Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating design information across a number of projects, working closely with clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams. You will ensure that design information is accurate, coordinated and issued in line with project programmes, while identifying and resolving technical issues before they impact construction. The role will suit someone who is organised, technically minded and confident managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design information from tender through to project completion.
  • Review architectural, technical and construction drawings.
  • Coordinate drawings and technical information between clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage design changes, RFIs and technical queries.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier design information.
  • Identify design clashes, discrepancies and potential issues and work with the relevant teams to resolve them.
  • Monitor design programmes and ensure information is delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Attend design and project meetings where required.
  • Maintain accurate design records and documentation.
  • Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors and site teams.
  • Provide technical support throughout the construction process.
  • Ensure designs are practical, compliant and suitable for installation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
