An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Coordinator to join a growing and well-respected SME main contractor delivering a wide range of planned works, refurbishment and maintenance projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative business that places a strong emphasis on quality, teamwork and professional development. You will play a key role in coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring all technical information is delivered accurately, on time and ready for construction.

The Role

Working closely with the Commercial, Operations and Site teams, you will be responsible for managing the flow of design information across multiple projects, coordinating external consultants and ensuring design programmes remain on track.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in planned works, refurbishment, retrofit, social housing or Design & Build projects who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has excellent organisational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design activities from tender stage through to completion and final handover.
  • Manage drawing registers, design trackers, RFI logs and design programmes.
  • Ensure drawings and technical information are reviewed, approved and issued through the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Monitor design progress and proactively identify and resolve risks, delays and information gaps.
  • Coordinate external consultants and specialist designers to ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Organise and chair design meetings, recording actions and following up outstanding items.
  • Work collaboratively with Commercial, Operations, Quality and Site teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate design releases to align with procurement and construction programmes.
  • Maintain design risk registers and identify buildability, compliance and programme risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Building Safety Act requirements and project handover documentation.
  • Support quality assurance processes and project inspections throughout the construction lifecycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
