Are you an experienced Design Engineer or Design Draughtsperson, with a background in material handling equipment, looking for an exciting opportunity within an established manufacturer that could train you on Tekla or Advance Steel software?

Do you have experience taking designs from initial site surveys and general arrangements through to detailed manufacturing drawings?


Established for over 30 years, this successful engineering business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke material handling and structural steel solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.

Working across projects involving conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, ductwork and structural steelwork, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions tailored to its customers' requirements.

The role would suit someone with material handling equipment design experience who is looking for the opportunity to be trained on Tekla or Advance Steel within a well-established engineering business.

The Role

  • Working closely with the engineering team to develop bespoke design solutions for material handling and structural steelwork projects
  • Attending customer sites across the UK to carry out surveys and gather information for engineering designs
  • Producing General Arrangement drawings and detailed manufacturing/fabrication drawings
  • Designing and detailing conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, tanks, ductwork and material handling equipment
  • Producing drawings for primary and secondary structural steelwork, including staircases, platforms and access steelwork
  • Producing 3D layouts and models of manufacturing plants and material handling systems
