Electrical Design Engineer – Coventry

We’re recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team delivering technically challenging control and automation projects across the UK.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing high-quality, commercially effective control system designs that meet client requirements and relevant industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Designing MCCs, switchgear, control panels, and LV distribution systems
  • Producing electrical schematics, specifications, GA drawings, and BOMs
  • Leading FATs and supporting commissioning and SAT activities
  • Working alongside Software Engineers to produce accurate FDS documentation
  • Supporting technical reviews and providing engineering input to Sales
  • Identifying emerging technologies and improving internal processes
  • Supporting colleagues across the wider Engineering team

Ideal Candidate

The successful Electrical Design Engineer will ideally have experience in:

  • Hardware electrical design within a Systems Integration environment
  • MCCs incorporating DOL, ASD, Soft Start, and VSD applications
  • Switchgear, control panels, or LV distribution
  • AutoCAD Electrical
  • BS EN 61439 and BS EN 60204
  • 18th Edition BS 7671
  • Equipment specification, installation, and commissioning
