The Vacancy
Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, you will work within a team of Design Engineers and be responsible for the specification, design, and manufacturability of new Gas, Solid Fuel, and Electric heating products. You will play a key role in ensuring designs are cost-efficient, optimized for manufacture, and functional while delivering projects to agreed timelines and to a high standard.
Working within a new product development team, you will take products from concept to manufacture, ensuring that functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements are met throughout the product design.
Role Accountabilities
- New product design and Development – Accountable for developing new products from initial concept through to production release, ensuring designs meet customer, technical, functional, quality, and cost requirements
- Design for manufacture – Ensure products are designed for efficient, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacture and assembly
- Cross-functional collaboration – Work closely with new product development teams, Production Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Marketing to ensure successful new product development and launch
- Design risk management – Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks throughout the new product development cycle
- Engineering standards – Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, legislation, and company procedures, liaising with the new product development stakeholders
- Project delivery – Ensure the delivery of new product design activities in line with agreed project deadlines and contribute to the overall product delivery milestones alongside the new product development team

The Company
The Stovax Group (comprising Stovax & Gazco) designs, manufactures, and distributes high-quality solid fuel, gas, and electric stoves & fireplaces to more than 30 countries.
The Stovax Group has predominantly grown organically through designing and developing its own products which are at the mid to upper sector of the market.
