Hays Engineering is proud to be working in partnership with a highly successful and innovative engineering manufacturer based in County Tyrone to recruit a Design Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established design team responsible for developing market-leading products supplied to customers across the globe. You'll play a key role in creating innovative engineering solutions, supporting new product development, and driving continuous product improvement.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Developing innovative design solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
  • Supporting new product development projects.
  • Conducting design calculations and technical evaluations.
  • Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and quality.
  • Assisting with product testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate engineering documentation and BOMs.

What You'll Need

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a mechanical design or product development environment.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
