The Role
We’re looking for a Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You’ll design standard and bespoke below-the-hook lifting equipment, taking projects from concept through structural verification to manufacture and certification. Working alongside experienced engineers and our fabrication workshop, you’ll play a key role in delivering engineered lifting solutions for projects across the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities
- Produce structural and mechanical calculations for lifting equipment.
- Design bespoke lifting equipment from concept through to manufacture.
- Create accurate 3D CAD models and detailed fabrication drawings.
- Carry out finite element analysis where required.
- Produce bills of materials and technical documentation.
- Design in accordance with BS EN 13155, DNV-ST-0378 and relevant engineering standards.
- Support estimating and quotation activities.
- Work closely with the workshop to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Maintain drawing revisions and technical records in line with ISO 9001.

What We’re Looking For
- Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience designing welded steel fabrications or load-bearing structures.
- Strong structural engineering knowledge.
- Experience using 3D CAD software.
- Ability to produce fabrication drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- A practical engineering mindset.
Desirable Experience
- Lifting equipment design.
- Spreader beams.
- Offshore engineering.
- FEA.
- BS EN 13155.
- DNV-ST-0378.
- Eurocode 3.
