The Design Engineer will play a key role in delivering complex engineering projects from concept through to manufacture. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will combine technical expertise with project coordination, ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and working closely with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams to keep projects moving forward.

The Design Engineer will:

  • Be responsible for the design of the battery modules and packs, supporting both the design, manufacture and test of our custom battery products
  • Be designing battery modules and packs in CAD, working with multidisciplinary teams, and solving design and manufacturing issues.
  • Build prototypes, testing batteries, analysing results, and refining designs from concept through to production
  • Support the creation of batteries from concept and R&D through to manufacture and test
  • Identify and resolve project risks, issues and delivery challenges
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders

The Design Engineer will have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualifications in Mechanical, automotive or similar engineering fields.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar technical role within the battery or electrification industry.
  • Good understanding of electrification systems, battery packs, creepage and clearance and high voltage systems.
  • The ability to create and read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent CAD proficiency, ideally Solidworks or Fusion.
  • Confidence using lab equipment, such as power supplies and electrical loads.
