Engage Talent Partners are pleased to be working with a well-established oil and gas and renewables company to source a Design Engineer for their Aberdeen office.
This role will sit within the existing design team, taking conceptual designs through drawings, manufacturing and testing. The company has a global reach and operates across the renewables and oil and gas sectors.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work with and take direction from managers and senior engineers.
- Take responsibility for design related tasks and activities.
- Support graduate and entry level engineers.
- Checking of drawings produced within the department.
- Risk identification and, if necessary, the development of mitigation plans in review with Team Leader.
- Review drawings ensuring completeness and that company standards are met.
- Presenting technical proposals & design presentation at concept and detailed design reviews.
- Provide design support and guidance for the manufacturing, assembly & test.
- Efficient use of design tools including AutoCAD, Inventor, MathCad etc.
- Carry out onshore and offshore site surveys.

Requirements:
- Degree qualified in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in a design engineering environment.
- Knowledge of oil and gas related product designs.
- Competent in the use of AutoCAD, Inventor, Ansys or other FEA packages.
- Highly motivated, strong team player, and ability to manage busy workloads.
- Knowledge of Microsoft AX and experience with relevant tool and equipment design will be advantageous though not essential.
