Design complex offshore engineering solutions that make a real difference across the global energy industry.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver mechanical design solutions across topside and subsea offshore projects. You will work on technically challenging projects spanning oil and gas, decommissioning, carbon capture, renewables, and hydrogen.

You will have the autonomy to develop concepts into robust engineering solutions while collaborating with experienced project and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design activities from concept through to completion.
  • Develop and manage design tasks against project milestones and deadlines.
  • Produce mechanical and structural calculations, FEA, and technical drawings.
  • Develop concepts and progress them into detailed engineering solutions.
  • Prepare URS documents, design packs, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Chair and present design reviews to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Check calculations, FEA, drawings, and documentation produced by colleagues.
  • Support proposals through design solutions, resource planning, and delivery input.
  • Ensure designs comply with company procedures, industry standards, and relevant codes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
