Design Engineer (Civils)
We are recruiting for a Design Engineer (Civils) to join us at Navitas Engineering either in London or Glasgow.
Navitas Engineering is a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy and part of Octavius and the RSK Group, one of the world's leading integrated environmental, engineering and technical services businesses.
We provide engineering design, consultancy, technical assurance and specialist advisory services across the rail, energy and wider infrastructure sectors. Working with infrastructure owners, operators, contractors and consultancies, we help our clients deliver safe, sustainable and high-performing engineering solutions throughout the entire asset lifecycle.
Role and Responsibility
The Design Engineer (Civils) will support the delivery of civil engineering and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects as part of Navitas Engineering's growing Civil Engineering discipline.
You'll be working on the following:
- Supporting the delivery of projects throughout the design lifecycle, from feasibility and option selection through to detailed design and construction support.
- Developing technical knowledge, practical experience, and professional competence.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Being encouraged to pursue professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in industrial, utility, rail or energy infrastructure projects, particularly civil engineering works that interface with electrical installations and plant.
- Understanding of fundamental civil engineering principles and design processes.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and regulations.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, calculations, and engineering documentation.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable:
- Experience within rail, energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Working towards professional registration with ICE or a relevant professional institution.
- Experience using industry-standard design software and CAD platforms.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and design risk management processes.
- Experience undertaking site visits, surveys, or construction support activities.
