Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer to join a market-leading piling specialist's Estimating and Design team, preparing design solutions and tender proposals for a wide range of piling disciplines on projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret architectural and engineering plans, blueprints, and specification drawings to determine the scope of works.
  • Assess tender requirements to determine the most appropriate design solution for sheet steel, king post, driven, or bored piling installations.
  • Prepare geotechnical and structural designs for fully embedded retaining walls, king post walls, cantilever and propped solutions, and bearing piles.
  • Work alongside the Operations team to conduct site inspections, assessing conditions, risks, and activities that may or may not be reflected in tender documentation.
  • Interpret contract conditions and incorporate company requirements into written tender submissions.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the tender process to provide progress updates and build strong working relationships.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures relating to health and safety legislation, including the CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Support the wider business development effort by maintaining a market-led approach and understanding client needs and priorities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
