Design Engineer
6 Month (Initial contract)
Hybrid/Bristol
£50-52 per hour (OUTSIDE IR35)
An EVTOL company in Bristol is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of high-performance, safety-critical lithium-ion battery systems for electric aviation.
What they're looking for
- Strong technical expertise in lithium-ion batteries, ideally from automotive, aerospace or another technically complex industry.
- Excellent systems engineering knowledge and experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to own engineering work packages, proactively manage interfaces and drive technical delivery.
- Strong experience with CATIA and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Technical leadership experience; people leadership would be advantageous.
- Expertise in one or more of the following:
- Composite design
- Liquid cooling system design
- Injection moulding
- Thermal runaway / battery fire protection
