Design Engineer - Creative Studio

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Design Engineer - Creative Studio based in United Kingdom.

Join a high-velocity engineering environment building the next generation of AI-powered creative products.

  • You’ll help shape intuitive, expressive interfaces for image, video, music, audiobook, and agentic creation experiences.
  • The role combines strong frontend engineering skills with product thinking, UX sensitivity, and visual craftsmanship.
  • You’ll own features end to end, from early concepts and prototypes through development, iteration, and launch.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Growth, and Sales to solve meaningful customer and business problems.
  • With significant autonomy and flexibility, you’ll influence both product direction and the technical solutions behind it.
  • You’ll also help raise the bar for the team by mentoring other frontend-focused engineers and contributing to a culture of excellence.

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintain creative products and platform experiences used by millions of users, with a strong focus on frontend development and user experience.
  • Design and develop intuitive UX/UI workflows for AI-powered creative experiences, including image generation, video, music, audiobooks, and agentic creation.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end features across the full stack, from scoping and prototyping through implementation, launch, and iteration.
  • Help define the product and development direction for the features and experiences you own.
  • Develop new proof-of-concept products, including solutions created directly with partner customers, with potential to scale into new markets.
  • Improve existing products through UX enhancements, new functionality, integrations, and thoughtful adoption of emerging AI capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Growth, and Sales to create cohesive web experiences and solve customer and internal workflow challenges.
  • Execute and iterate on designs using user feedback, product insights, and web development best practices.
  • Contribute to reliable, performant, secure, and scalable internal infrastructure as products and usage grow.
  • Mentor less experienced frontend-leaning engineers and contribute to engineering standards and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the collection, management, and processing of large-scale datasets supporting the development of next-generation generative AI models.

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a frontend engineer with a strong eye for design, visual quality, and user experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Next.js, React, and TypeScript, with hands-on experience building modern web applications.
  • Experience using design and animation libraries such as Shadcn, Framer Motion, D3, or comparable tools.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating web projects and the ability to create compelling, polished digital experiences; personal branding and ownership of the work are highly valued.
  • Familiarity with common software and system design patterns, APIs, cloud infrastructure, storage solutions, data structures, and related engineering concepts.
  • Strong product mindset, with the ability to understand user problems, make thoughtful design decisions, and translate concepts into production-quality experiences.
  • High degree of autonomy, ownership, curiosity, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with minimal bureaucracy.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills when working across Engineering, Design, Growth, Sales, and other teams.
  • A track record of solving challenging technical or product problems through projects, designs, GitHub contributions, or other demonstrable work. Formal degrees or certifications are not required.
  • Experience building media, creative, or AI-powered products for enterprise customers is a plus.
