The Curtiss-Wright's Sensors Team Opportunity

The Curtiss-Wright Sensors team is seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join our team based in Christchurch, UK. In this role, you'll be focused on designing products and completing project work for flight-critical sensors and controls for both commercial and military aircraft. This offers a unique chance to join our team during a period of growth.

Product Range

Our products include solenoids, valves, linear and rotary sensors specifically designed for aerospace applications.

Role Overview

This is an entry-level position ideal for an enthusiastic graduate engineer with a mechanical focus, eager to pursue a career in aerospace.

Your Challenge

  • 3D design using SolidWorks
  • Generation of manufacturing drawings
  • Tooling and fixture design to support production and qualification testing
  • Changes to engineering drawings via the ECO system in PDM
  • Provide analysis using FEA, tolerance stack-ups, and hand calculations
  • Creation of reports, presentations, and test documentation

Your Expertise

  • Degree educated with a minimum of a 2:1 in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Experience of FEA (thermal, CFD, structural, magnetic)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as turning & milling
  • Some basic knowledge of electronics
  • Understanding of solenoids and transformers
  • Competent using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
