As part of the Design team, you will support the daily operations of the trailer design department, working closely with Sales and Production to ensure designs are feasible, technically sound, and delivered efficiently.

- Collaborate with Sales and Production teams to assess feasibility and production requirements, providing timely and accurate information to support decision-making.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for customers, Sales, and Production, ensuring all materials are fit for purpose and clearly presented using Solidworks.
- Review and certify specifications submitted by the Sales department, implementing trailer specification changes in accordance with the current change control process, and rejecting requests that do not align with business objectives or legislative requirements (e.g. Type Approvals).
- Support product costing and contribute to the development of new products.
- Assist with nesting operations for the machine shop using Sigmanest.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of production techniques, working with supervisors and staff to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the build process.
- Ensure all functional checks are completed prior to product delivery.
- Liaise with and support Production Managers to maintain product quality and on-time delivery.
- Assist stores personnel with material management (e.g. procurement) and cost control, including kitting batches and stock levels.
- Support the production of Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) and legislative applications, ensuring trailers are compliant and properly registered.
- Gather and report customer feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support the wider business improvement agenda by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency within the design function and its interfaces with Sales and Production.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects, contributing design expertise to support broader organizational goals.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by management.
