Job Description:

Position:

Design Engineer – Portable Crushing and Screening Plants

Location:

Farlough, NI

Reporting to:

Engineering Team Lead

Working within the portable plant engineering team, the Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of new and maintenance of existing wheeled crushing and screening plants.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products
  • Produce full manufacturing specification packages including Engineering BOMs and replacement spares lists.
  • To resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process relating to wheeled platform engineering
  • Prototype development and production launch supervision
  • Follow engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data
  • Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function, reliability and serviceability.
  • Reduce manufacturing costs through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers
  • To investigate and address customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies within the wheeled platform product line
  • Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative
  • Supports technical publications with procedures and images for them to creates operation and maintenance manuals as well as parts books.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience
  • Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment a plus
  • Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Creo
  • General knowledge of engineering systems and standards
  • Analysis of welded steel structures and hydraulic systems
  • History of creativity and innovative thinking
